Thunderbolts Festival 2022
The 23rd annual community event Thunderbolts Festival, will be held Saturday 29th October (10:30am-3:30pm) in the lovely Alma Park, Queen St, Uralla. Theme: Superheroes and Princesses.
Rotary has been successful in receiving grant funding through the NSW Government: Reconnecting Regional NSW – Community Events Program, in association with Uralla Shire Council.
10:30am Fleet Warbirds Street Parade in Bridge St includes; Capt. Thunderbolt, Classic Cars, Oxley Riders, Hot Rods, Antique Machinery, fire engines, local schools and community groups.
There will be the usual kids’ activities with free wristbands due to funding!; huge Base Zero rock climb wall, inflatable rides – giant slide and jumping castles plus 9 hole mini golf.
Backtrack Youth Works will provide a dog high jump demonstration in Alma Park. Local schools will have BBQ food stalls and Friends of McMaughs their tea, coffee, cakes & sandwiches.
Lantern making workshops with Uralla Arts, free lanterns to decorate due to funding!, massive number of market stalls in Alma Park, face painting, photo booth, hula hoop competition and New England Antique Machinery Display.
Chilli Jam, local Armidale band will provide entertainment through day with a variety of songs from Blues, World Latin, Jazz and popular songs with a unique twist. The energy of Chilli Jam is contagious and fun.
Lantern Parade at dusk magically weaving through the trees in Alma Park - no fireworks this year due to environmental impact and costs.
